We took a direct hit from the hurricane!! 100 mile per hour winds and above at times. I secured the dish in transmit position by using straps attached to the I-bolts in the concrete which we had placed during installation. Not too tight though… but enough to help with stability as needed. I was careful not to tension excessively so the dish surface would not warp even a fraction. WE NEVER LOST SIGNAL!!! as a matter of fact the signal never even fluctuated!! Wow!!! What a great example of the superb engineering of the Antesky dish!! Please tell your associates we are so impressed!! And so very happy!!
It should be noted, that because our satellite is at a fairly high angle it was a decision I felt comfortable with considering the wind directions I was anticipating. I felt due to the high angle why not try to secure it in the transmit position. It worked fantastically.
As for me I was safe in the building during the hurricane. Everyone evacuated and I said I would stay and attempt to keep the network going. Since I had generator I suppose I was better than rest of the employees at their homes with no electricity. LOL LOL LOL
However it was quite interesting going outside during the hurricane just to check and make sure everything was OK with your awesome uplink dish. It was all quite an experience to remember.
I wish you and yours well and I hope this story helps your sales because it is a great story for Antesky reliability.
